Frequently Asked Questions
Q: I heard that if you start you have to keep going?
A:Those that “keep going” do so for the same reason they “keep going” to the dentist – for their best health. Most regular Chiropractic patients feel better and don’t get sick as often.
Q: Does it hurt?
A: There may be some discomfort but “hurt” is rarely ever heard with the methods used at our office. We use the gentlest, but still efforts methods.
Q: How can I afford it?
A: We work with all patients to allow them access to Chiropractic care and still stay in “fair exchange”. Confidential inquires can be directed to Erika at our front desk.
Q: Can it help my other conditions (other than neck or back pain)?
A: Most patients obtain more relief than expected as the body heals all over, not just the area of complaint.
Q: My doctor said Chiropractic would hurt me?
A: The best judge of whether Chiropractic might place you at risk is a state licensed Chiropractor. In almost all cases, with careful methods, patients can have Chiropractic care. Our patients range from babies to seniors and it helps them all.
Q: What about my insurance?
A: Insurance has changed and most insurances provide minimal coverage. Our office will verify your coverage to determine your benefits. Billing is produced each Tuesday, most of it electronically directly to the insurance companies.
Q: What about Medicare?
A: We have many senior patients. Medicare is billed weekly like any insurance.
Q: Does Dr. Miller wrench the neck or make rough adjustments?
A: No - The Palmer and Gonstead methods are gentle as practiced in our office.
Q: Am I too late? Will it really help?
A: Only a trial period of care will know if you can respond but in most cases, most patients can no matter their age or level of infirmity. See our success stories.
Q: Can I get a “quick adjustment” and avoid the whole workup?
Not unless you have the information from a Chiropractor and are under regular care prior to our office. To “guess” on a patient is not a risk worth taking.
Q: I get relief sometimes when I “adjust myself”. Do I really need Chiropractic?
A: most patients are able to generate some noise from stretching joints. Unfortunately, the joints most critical to move for optimal health are rarely the ones patients can move.
Q: My kids are fine - why should they be checked?
A: Birth trauma and the 2000 falls it takes to learn to walk start the spine off on the wrong track… and it grows worse from there. Children respond much faster than adults with Chiropractic care. We recommend all children be checked before age 5.
Q: What about babies?
A: As mentioned above birth trauma is an important reason to check babies. While there is often little to do those that need care respond often dramatically, and usually with minimal follow up.
Q: What if I am already injured/frail/post-surgical/too weak. How can I be helped? Dr. A: Miller has experience with thousands of patients, some who started off in very poor condition. It may require special care, but most patients can be helped with Chiropractic.
Q: I’m pregnant and cannot have X-rays… can I be helped?
A: Yes you can be helped but it has to be done more carefully. Without X-rays, there is not internal blueprint so a step by step process is required to determine the best care for you. After delivery, the spine can be x-rayed and optimal care confirmed. It takes 9 months for the spine to prepare for delivery and 9 months to revert. That special window for women allows their spine an opportunity to heal after delivery such that it can better than before.
