                Initial consultations as no charge
                e-mail response
10 minute complimentary telephone consultations with the doctor
informative mailings or internet links for health inquiries\
Patient support – many of our patients generously share their experiences with new patients that have similar conditions.

    The First Visit Experience
  1. Case History
  2. Examination
  3. Upright X-rays
  4. Recommendations

Case History
A discussion with the patient about past and present injuries, life experiences such as childhood trauma.  The history helps determine the appropriate second step and whether the case is truly Chiropractic or needs outside referral.  Patients often bring outside X-rays, lab and other medical reports to assist Dr. Miller.

Examination Process

  • Observation (of gait and movement)
  • Vital signs (height, weight, blood pressure as required by State Law)
  • Range of motion measurement
  • Neurological tests
  • Orthopedic tests
  • Postural evaluation
  • Bilateral weight scale
  • Neurocalograph analysis
  • Static and motion palpation of the spine
  • Chiropractic tests

Examination purpose to determine

  • which areas require X-ray
  • which areas require more extensive evaluation and/or outside referral
  • what recommendations/restrictions/disability are appropriate
  • safety issues to consider – handicap, prior surgery etc

X-rays determine

  • the level of spinal decay
  • prior trauma/injuries
  • postural changes
  • potential sites subluxation using Palmer and Gonstead analytical methods
  • upright findings (vs. laying down which is how most medical x-rays are done)

Initial recommendations

  • home bed rest and/or disability
  • orthopedic supports/cervical collars
  • concurrent outside referral

Pillow, chair, computer posture and lifestyle changes

FOLLOW UP VISIT #2

  1. Report of findings
  2. Initiate trial period of care

The report of findings

  • Reviews examination and X-ray findings in detail
  • Coordinates finding with any outside tests and results brought to the office
  • Develops lifestyle changes in more detail

Trial care period

  • To see the rate of response to Chiropractic care
  • For the patient to experience and see if it’s a our office is a fit for them

To identify lifestyle issues that may have been missed

FOLLOW UP RECOMMENDATIONS – are you seeking optimal health?

After a trial period Dr. Miller will report on:

  • healing goals the patient has indicated
  • A plan of care to meet those goals
  • Interim re-evaluations to mark the rate of progress
  • Lifestyle changes – exercise, nutrition and supplementation
  • Outside referral as needed

Optimal health requires longer term recommendations in three phases which mimic the healing phases of other health care professionals (dentistry, orthopedics etc): RELIEF, REHABILITATION and PREVENTION/WELLNESS.

Relief:  Many patients only want relief, as soon as they can and may consider a “quick fix” sufficient.  Our goal, should the patient desire it, is lasting results that requires a foundation of healing built over time.

FINANCIAL ARRANGEMENTS
How we stay in “fair exchange” for our services

  • We have “usual and customary” fees which remain below average for our area
  • We work with all patients to provide access to Chiropractic care
  • We DO NOT belong to HMO’s or any third party that tell us, from a distance, how to provide your care
  • We DO provide billing to all third parties weekly and have any monies sent directly to the patient
  • Again… We work with all patients to provide access to Chiropractic care

Should you have any financial questions or concerns please contact us.
