These are some success stories from our records – initials are used to protect privacy.

Auto Accidents- the most injurious accidents that we survive.  We see new cases every week with whiplash effects along the length of the spine, some after an Emergency Room visit or hospital stay.  Chiropractic helps the process of healing, speeding comfort and recovery.  The patient may require supports, icepacks, bed rest and later rehabilitation from the effects of injuries.  (Our office is equipped to complete the med-legal and paperwork related to auto accidents)

Children – we prefer to check all children before the age of 5.

  • Scoliosis- two teens came in as patients, K. and R., one younger than the other. Their mother has been a gymnast, the girls very active in their own sports. With consistent care there was no measurable worsening of the curvatures during the  growth-spurt years.
  • ADD – A teen girl C. had panic attacks and was in remedial classes in the local middle school.  The diagnosis was ADD. The mother worked 2 hours a night to try to help her but she did not retain the concepts.  Once care started, panic attacks stopped almost immediately.  Within a semester she was taking regular classes and making A’s and “B’s.  She went on to college and is now an Art teacher in the mid-west.

Gastrointestinal

  • Ulcers, Reflux, constipation – Rarely do patients come in for these problems directly. But the digestive tract is 26 feet long in the adult powered by nerves from the spine.  Often “back pain” has a “front pain/discomfort” associated with it.  As the “back” resolves, so does the front.  Care is supplemented with dietary recommendations.

Musculoskeletal – the most common reasons patients come in.

  • Back pain –We have thousands of success stories ranging from patients that can only crawl to mild cases.  Some see us after surgery still looking for relief.
  • Fibromyalgia – a relatively new diagnosis but seen often in our office.  The pain and debilitation from the condition can be helped with Chiropractic care.
  • Knee pain – chronic (non-injury) pain is often related to the biomechanics of the pelvis.  B. was a 60 year-old female with constant knee pain.  Arthroscopic surgery was imminent, replacement possible; a friend suggested our office. 15 years later B. still has her own knees.
  • Neck pain – perhaps the second most frequent reason patients come to us. We see numerous cases, some even after surgery!
  • Sciatica – is another common reason patients see us. G was a retired police officer who used a walker make it in our door.  His scrunched faced and ginger steps showed the pain he endured. Six months into care, no longer requiring the walking and improving steadily, G. got impatient. He went to a pain clinic for a month, but returned feeling no better. 2 years later without medication and maintaining an active lifestyle, G. is at a preventative level of care.

Headaches – patients putting up with frequent headaches often try Chiropractic.  There are numerous headache classifications, one of the worst being migraines:

  • Migraine- Chiropractic helps the delicate physiology of the brain function.  J. suffered from debilitating migraines, sometimes twice a week. Vomiting occurred and day after an episode she was “wiped”. Medications made minimal difference and had their own side effects.  With consistent care and careful diet they are rare and if caught early can be shortened with care at our office.

Hormones

  • thyroid – a middle aged woman K. was diagnosed with a thyroid condition.  Her lab test measured almost zero and a surgical intervention was recommended. She heard about your office – with Chiropractic and nutrition the lab test came back normal within 30 days.
  • Diabetes- diabetics are trying to keep their sugar metabolism under control, avoid medication, avoid insulin, avoid an “insulin pump” and avoid complications including amputations.  Chiropractic helps keep the rest of the body working optimally.

Immune – the immune system is the most critical and complex system for our daily survival.

  • always sick” – M. a retired senior female who “caught everything that was going around” sometimes 3 or more episodes bedridden per winter season.  She came in for headaches and back pain. Three years later she said “I haven’t been sick since I started here”.

Infants

  • birth trauma – a newborn baby could not turn its head and screamed all the time.  The parents were frantic.  With a special very gentle infant adjustment, while the baby lay in the lap of the mother, the baby could turn its head almost immediately.

Reproductive

  • Fertility- a 26 year old woman J. was diagnosed with breast cancer and had lumpectomy and chemotherapy. She signed papers to confirm she would be infertile. She continued Chiropractic which seemed to help the nausea.  Along the way she conceived and delivered a healthy baby girl M.
  • Menstrual – numerous women report pain, PMS and irregularity.  As a bonus for “back pain” improving, menstrual issues often improve. Diet and supplementation is usually part of the regimen.

Respiratory

  • Asthma – P. had 5 hospitalizations in his 1st year of life. His mother wanted to bring him but the father was not so sure. Eventually the mother brought him in and there has been no hospitalization since. P is an active preteen in 2008.  There have been no medications required for several years.

Seniors – deserve to feel good too!

  • A pacemaker was put in A.’s chest at 99 years old and cataract surgery soon thereafter. He was a vibrant centenarian who lived alone until he was 100.  His hunched posture bother him - “I feel better after my adjustments” he professed to anyone within earshot. He was able to stop high blood pressure pills while under care.

Sleep Disturbance – commonly reported when patients are in pain, or movement causes pain.

  • S. is a 68  year old male. For a year he suffered from congestion when sleeping so bad he would cough himself awake, choking on the fluids.  He tried to sleep seated in a chair but slept poorly.  After his first visit he slept through the night, in a regular bed.
  • D., a 5 year old boy was not sleeping through the night that seemed to coincide with a fall off the monkey bars.  After or one or two visits, his sleep patterns returned to normal (for him) allowing him to sleep through the night.

Urinary

  • Chronic infections -  T. had urinary tract infections (UTI’s) more than once per month.  Nothing seemed to help.  With Chiropractic and some nutritional modifications the condition is rare and resolves rapidly.
  • Incontinence/Frequency –  M., a senior female heard about us in Big Bear (1.5hrs away).  Her life was a search to find a bathroom more than once an hour 24/7.  She drove to us but had to stop twice to find a bathroom. She knew all the McDonald’s along her route.  With regular care she can now make the whole trip and has less interruptions to her sleep.

Vascular

  • Blood pressure – numerous patients report blood pressure medications.  One example is C. who was overweight yet active, 58 year female. She did no activity but hates doctors and pills.  She came to our office for headaches.  She reduced her medication some when she started Chiropractic care, more when she went to a weight loss group and joined a gym.  She eventually weaned herself off all blood pressure medicines which took approximately 6 months. Her pressure was checked regularly and eventually even her medical doctor saw she had normal blood pressure without medicine.
  • Cholesterol – along with blood pressure, elevated cholesterol is a common complaint.  Exercise, nutrition and supplementation help most patients stay off or reduce medications.

Whiplash – (see Auto Accidents above).  Most commonly occurring from auto accidents but can also occur with falls, head impacts and sport injuries.  See Dr. Milton Miller’s story in About Us.
