Our Chiropractic Techniques

We use a number of highly-effective adjusting approaches to help improve spinal biomechanics and reduce nervous system interference. The approach we use is based on our judgment and years of experience.

The Palmer Package is a variety of techniques taught at the Palmer College of Chiropractic in Davenport, Iowa, the birthplace of chiropractic in 1895. Its where Dr. Miller’s father was educated. read more»

The main techniques include:

Think of an adjustment as “tuning” a piano, adjusting each string so it produces the perfect tone.

Toggle Recoil

While you’re in a totally relaxed state, lying on your side, a high-speed, low-force thrust is delivered to the upper bones of your spine and the hands are quickly withdrawn. This allows the body to use the energy as it sees fit to “reset” the spinal joints. The careful analysis of special x-rays views allows this method to be specific to the patient, of any age or infirmity. Several hundred million nerves are affected at this level of the spine producing the results that made Chiropractic famous from its inception as a profession. read more»

Gonstead

Additional X-rays of the spine may be used to reveal subluxation patterns in the spine. To adjust your lower spine and pelvis, we’ll have you lie on your side. Subluxations in the middle back are corrected as you assume a comfortable face forward position on specialized equipment that can be moved to fit you. read more»

Diversified

First, an analysis of your spine is performed. With the malposition of one or more spinal bones identified, a specific manual thrust is administered, based on experience, practice and a thorough understanding of spinal mechanics. read more»

Neurocalograph

Both Toggle-Recoil and Gonstead are very effective gentle techniques when needed. But if the spine is adjusted unnecessarily, irritation of the nerves can result. The small heat-sensing instrument helps determine when NOT to adjust, when to give the body more time and be “patient”.
